Selected to eat before ripening

BARI Mango-9 has a different place at the table.

BARI Mango-9 — Bangladesh

Documented history

The university herbarium calls it kacha-mitha and records a locally collected selection released in 2011. Its pale, moderately sweet unripe flesh is harvested for eating green. Here the story is a selected eating use, rather than waiting for the usual ripe mango.
