Bocado Jobo was studied as its own local type.

Bocado Jobo — Venezuela; studied at Tarabana, Lara

A name on the map

The Tarabana study distinguished Bocado Jobo from Bocado Común rather than merging them. Its fruit was larger in that comparison, but consumer preference was similar. The word Jobo does not prove a botanical relationship with another fruit.
