A Florida mango finds Brazilian orchards
Documented history: consult the claims and qualifications in the cited sources.
Palmer originated in Florida; Embrapa’s historical cultivar guide dates its selection to 1925. Its presence in Brazil reflects the movement of planting material between tropical fruit-growing regions.
In a later Embrapa trial at Lençóis, Bahia, Palmer and the Brazilian Ubá both performed well under organic management. Two different histories could share the same orchard.
