# A golden name from Sindh

Sindhri carries Sindh’s orchard identity into the first mango boxes of summer.

Sindhri — Mirpur Khas and other Sindh districts; also grown in Punjab, Pakistan

A name on the map

Pakistan’s cluster study places Sindhri at the centre of the mango-growing belt around Mirpur Khas. The connection with Sindh is well documented; the references used here do not establish one first tree or a verified act of naming.

Grower descriptions on Pakistan’s trade portal record early fruit from Sindh followed by Punjab supplies. Sindhari is another English spelling you may see on a box. A country association can describe where a cultivar is loved and grown without settling every detail of its earliest history.
