## How to enjoy it

Sweet Tart is named for the contrast at the centre of its appeal. A bright acidic edge gives its sweetness definition. Taste it plain before adding sugar to any dessert.

Cut ripe cheeks and scoop with a spoon. Taste the flesh plain before adding it to a dessert.

## When it is ripe

Wait for full color, a strong fruity scent, and gentle softness.

Flavour notes are subjective. Ripeness, handling and growing conditions change the fruit.

## From C-1 to a name you can taste

Documented history: consult the claims and qualifications in the cited sources.

Sweet Tart was planting C-1 in Gary Zill’s Boynton Beach breeding programme. Its recorded seed parent was Zill Indochinese, often shortened to Zinc. Those plain orchard labels preserve the work behind a name that now sounds like a sweet-shop invention.

The name describes the strong sweet-and-acid contrast growers report in the fruit. It tells the eater what made the selection memorable, while C-1 tells the grower where it began. The available record does not supply a separate person or historic event behind the naming.
