## Local seedlings support the grafted orchard

Documented name: the history of the first tree remains unresolved.

INIA’s propagation leaflet describes Criollo de Chulucanas as a common source of seedling rootstocks in Peru. These roots support grafted varieties whose fruit bears another name. Criollo is retained here as a local category; the source does not establish one founding tree for every mango carrying that label.
