Florida, Japan and Brazil

A mango’s birthplace, its parents and the places that grow it are different parts of its life. Florida became an important centre of selection. Research collections and cultivation elsewhere reveal how far those varieties—and questions about their identities—can travel.

## A cultivar with a far-reaching family.

### [Haden](https://mangoranking.com/mango/haden.md)

In a study of mango collections held in Japan, researchers identified more than 30 accessions as offspring of Haden. Its influence can be followed through genetics as well as the Florida garden story preserved in its profile.

### [Irwin](https://mangoranking.com/mango/irwin.md)

The same study assessed Irwin as Lippens × Haden using molecular markers. The tested material was held in Japan. The relationship is evidence about those accessions, while the profile’s story follows Irwin’s wider life in East Asian cultivation.

## A new orchard becomes another home.

### [Palmer](https://mangoranking.com/mango/regional-palmer.md)

Palmer is recorded among Florida mango cultivars. In Brazil, Embrapa studied Palmer alongside Ubá under organic cultivation in Lençóis, Bahia. That research supplies a concrete growing-place connection: a mango can have a Florida origin and a Brazilian chapter.

## Where does a mango belong after it travels?

Origin and adopted growing regions can coexist. A profile becomes more informative when it records both, and distinguishes a family relationship from the physical journey of a particular tree.
