## The country guide

Pakistan’s mango season has more than one personality. Start with Sindhri from Sindh, try the compact, fragrant Anwar Ratol, then make room for juicy Chaunsa and the generous Fajri. The major orchard belts run through Sindh and southern Punjab. Langra, Dusehri and Bangan Pali also appear in Pakistani growing records; they share existing tasting profiles because a country association does not create a new cultivar. Saroli and the White, Black and Azeem Chaunsa selections add more names to explore.

## Season and availability

TDAP describes a broad mid-May to late-September season, moving from Sindh to Punjab. Punjab’s research calendar lists Sindhri and Anwar Ratol around June–early July, and Samar Bahisht Chaunsa around July–early August; its late selections and Fajri extend into October. Exporter windows can be earlier. These are regional reference windows, not a live harvest forecast or one season for every Chaunsa.

## At the table

Taste ripe fruit plain first: Sindhri offers generous smooth cheeks, Anwar Ratol a small fragrant mouthful, and Chaunsa plenty of juice. Pakistan’s Sindh agriculture department also records mango milkshakes, ice cream, juice, preserves and green-fruit pickles. Match the variety and ripeness to the dish; the serving notes below are our editorial starting points.
